Set refresh too high, cant get in xp

ut oh. I set my refresh rate too high in xp for my monitor, and the screen went black, and I was like, ok. wait 15 secs, it'll come back.

Well it didnt..

So, I just figured a simple safe mode bootup will fix it. I get into safe mode, but theres no options (duh). So I just restart it from safe mode and figure it will reset itself, but it didnt. Same prob. goes blank when it loads xp. I know its the refresh rate, because I wait til I think its on the logon screen and fumbled with some buttons and managed to shut it down using the keyboard (yes, with no monitor) So I know XP is "there" and functioning. Thankfully, I have a dualboot xp/98se system, so im ok right now, but I'd really like to get back to XP. Anybody got any ideas? I'd appreciate any help

I think if you uninstall your video drivers it will revert back to the original setting.

You can not change it via your monitor.

Boot into safe mode as stated and remove your display driver.

Its not changable in safe mode, NO options whatsoever. I did some research online and just hit boot with VGA instead of safe mode and worked perfect
