Outdoors Brand New PC Constantly Freezing...

Hi, I'm building a new computer and just got everything all running yesterday. I was wanting to make sure I had my computer's temperature under control, so I went into bios and sat there for about an hour monitoring the temp and it stayed at 120F the whole time, so that was good. But then when I tried to run Windows XP (I just formatted my HD and reinstalled XP yesterday) my computer froze within 2 minutes or so. I've tried rebooting like 10 times and I just get the same exact problem. It's really aggrivating me. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Here are my stats:

CPU: AMD XP 2700
RAM: 512 DDR
OS: WINXP PRO
GRAPHICS: Nvidia PCI

Please let me know if you have any ideas for me to try.

Thanks in advance!

You know what? I figured I would try to swap the video card with another one I have and now it's not freezing. It's been up a good 10 mins ^_^ but I'll try to run it in safe mode with the other card here in a bit.

Assuming that the video card is not bad, you may have the wrong drivers installed for it.

If it doesn't freeze in Safe Mode then I would try installing different drivers.

you need to go to add/remove programs and remove anything you do not need.
