Im completely baffled...

ok, here goes...

i left last night for work. as normal id been on my computer before i left. i run a linksys router and modem... and im running winxp.

heres the settings i had for the router:

broadcast SSID disabled.
WEP enabled.
Channel set to 1
thats about it...

anyways, all was working well when i left for work...

i get home this morning and my computer isnt connected. i open up the network connections and it says im connected. i spend about an hour setting up a new profile and whatnot, to no avail...

finally i put everything back the way it was except for WEP and SSID broadcasting... for whatever reason now, in order to connect wirelessly, i cant have WEP enabled nor SSID broadcasting disabled.

whats going on here???
i really dont want/need the whole apartment complex using MY network connection...

thanx ppl

Have you tried different WEP settings? With my USR, I have to use 128bit ASCII encryption otherwise my card won't connect.

If WEP isn't working, you could always use MAC filtering.
