Installing New SATA Drives

I have :-
Two new 120 GB Maxtor Diamond 9 SATA 150 HDD's.

The drives were bought with no documentation or instalation disks or drivers.
I have never used SATA before so I would like to know what I need and how to insall them and do away with my existing IDE drives which I plan to use in external mobile USB enclosures for storage and back up purposes.
I know it's asking a bit much but step by step instructions would be great.
Also any links to where I can find the relevant drivers would be greatly appreciated.

My MOBO is a...................Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2.

go here and look at the manual http://www.giga-byte.com/Motherboard...l_GA-7N400.htm

does the board have sata connectors? I dont see that listed as a feature?

If not I think you have to buy adapters or somethign, but im not sure.

here are drivers for that board http://www.giga-byte.com/Motherboard...r_GA-7N400.htm

I dont see sata stuff listed with the drivers either.

I have never used sata so Ill watch to see what others say, lol.

That board is the same one I have and it does have a SATA controller on it. The drivers should be on the motherboard disk.

Are you trying to install windows to both drives in SATA RAID or have you already installed WinXP on a different drive and want to add these two drives?
