UPS Recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a UPS for a computer? I would like to have about 15 minutes of backup power.

How much are you looking to spend?

I usually recommend APC or Belkin. Size would be determined by your desired cost range.

Price has not been discussed, this is for work. Probably under $100.00 if that is a realistic number?

I run a Belkin 800va. I have two 1.4 Athlon pc's and two 17" monitors connected to it. I don't know how long it will run. Note that most UPS's will not run nearly as long as the spec's claim. Probably best to find one in a local store as the shipping would be considerable.

Powerware make some of the best UPSes.

I have the 5125, which is not strictly a UPS but this is a better solution I think.

Batteries last longer and cheaper to run.

I have 2 Belkins and am very happy with them.

As for how long they run, you need to be wise about what you put on them. They will run ALOT longer if you don't put thinks like monitors on them. I just have my PC, router, modem, cordless phone and I get quite a bit of time.

Remember, the idea with desktop UPSs is not to let you keep working, just give the OS time to gracefully shut down, and condition the power.
