Major problems with lots of ads poping up

I am having some major problems here with ad poping up all the time. I have like 3 spybots running Adware 6.0 running and nothin is helping. Its really getting me ticked off with all this ad crap. I run ad watch and all the time i get the pop up Accept or Block.

Here is my hotfix report.

You need to set your software to block the pop-ups not ask for permission. Certain websites are filled with pop-ups, anti-spyware and Ad Aware aren't going to stop them without this setting.

You can get a pop-up blocker program or use Netscape 7.1 for your browser. Netscape 7.1 has a pop-up blocker feature that works pretty good. Also there is a file called 0click.exe that will block all pop-up requests from Double Click Corp. which is probably the largest purveyor of this crap. I can email you the 0click file if you need. Drop me a PM with your email addy.

if you go to www.google.com do you get a popup?
Agreed you should use a different browser
Netscape is a bit porky on resources IMO
My preference is Opera however, some people prefer mozilla
Both products come standard with popup blockers (not to mention MUCH more functional than IE.

Are you getting popups only during surfing, or all the time?
Having kazaa open also causes popups all the time.

This is true, Netscape bleeds resources like a stuck hog.

Downloading the Google Toolbar, ( at least for IE6 ), has solved all of my pop-up probs.

I didn't even realize it came with a pop-up blocker, until I realized one day, that I wasn't receiving any. So far, the Toolbar says it has blocked 566 pop-ups.

So, if you'd rather stick with IE6, Google Toolbar, (not "Deskbar" ), seems the way to go. IMO.
