Network adapter problems!!!!

while trying to upgrade my internet accsess, i couldn't because it keeps saying that the network adapter was not working, i reinstalled it , nothing happened. Now i tried to go back to dial up, but each time i try to get o the net, it keeps coming back saying , no adapter instaled- but i swear, it's on there. I have also tried to reinstall it, still not working.
Can somebody please help, if not to be able to finsh my broadband connetion, but to go back to dial uP>>>. please.

does the network card show up in device manager?

can you self ping the adapter..go to a dos prompt and do "ping 127.0.0.1" (without the quotes) and see if it works.

If the card shows up in device manager, does it have an exclamation beside the device name? If it does, then you have to install the drivers for the card.

thanks everyone
i have self ping the adapter!

the result is
bytes=32
time>10ms
Ttl=128

what does this mean!!

i have also check the control pannel,there were no exlamation maks

what else should i do!!!
