Far Cry 1.1 - now crashes second time I load a checkpoint?

Hiya,

I installed the Far Cry 1.1 patch last night and it seems to run smoother, HOWEVER the second time I load a checkpoint, the progress bar appears, but doesn't fill, and I have to quit out to an error message generated by the game (it's not a windows error message, it's a small info window created by the game saying it tried to "read" memory and couldn't or something).

Has anyone else seen this?

How much ram are you running? How many programs are running in the task bar?

erm, 512Mb, no programs running in background (only a few services running too)

It ran ok (ie: load would work fine) before the 1.1 patch, so it's obviously something affected by that, so I expect I'll have to reinstall :\

on the subject of your webcam - where is this that you work and where are you located?

It's an ISP in Bradford, UK...

Going back to the original problem, I've just tried it tonight and it seems fine! :-\

Weird that a reboot has made all the difference, but there ya go.

Those Trigens are well scary!
