Outdoors computer shuts itself down

I have an eMachine 333cs. Have upgraded it to 500mhz and 512mb of ram.
It has been running fine for at least a year.
But, now it will run for 15min to 30min and it will shutdown completely.
When that happens I have to unplug it for about 5 min before it will come back on.
Is this a power supply problem or a cooling problem?

Sounds like PSU.

You can try running it w/o the side(s) on the case to see if it does it. If it doesn't shut down, then it's heat.

Check the PSU fan in the back and make sure it's turning as well.

Welcome to Techimo!

I agree. Borrow from a friend another PSU and try it on your system.

Misc

Thanks ya.
Took the advice and weighed it.
From that I calculated maybe the power supply fan was out and I installed a new fan in the power supply.
Works great now!!
Just to be on the safe side I also installed a new fan on the chip.
Better to be safe than sorry.
THANK YOU!!
