Kids Cant access the Bios setup

I have a problem accessing my Intel D845WN motherboard bios setup. when i power on the system,i used to get the splash screen
then I was prompt (with 1 beep) to enter the supervisor password after that the system loads.
Now I dont get the splash screen and then i hear the beep but with a blank screen ,so I enter the
the password and the system loads normally.I try to enter the bios setup but all I get is a blank screen.
I tried updating the Bios through the express setup provided by the Intel site but nothing changed. I tried the iflash
update but I realized that it works by booting from a floppy and I had disabled the floppy controller from the bios before the
problem occured . I would really Apreciate any ideas or help.

Welcome to TechIMO!

You can reset the BIOS with the CMOS jumper or by just pulling out the battery. I haven't looked into the specs of your board so I'm not sure if you have a CMOS jumper or not.

killcmos is another solution for resetting your bios. The utility can be found here

If you're running anti-virus software, it may detect a Trojan virus in the killcmos file. This is a mistake. There is NO virus in this file.

I could never get killcmos to work as apparently the system I was trying it on has a backup BIOS.
I was trying to get into a protected BIOS with no clue as to what the password was. In the end it just wasn't worth the time and effort I was spending on it and I gave up trying to upgrade the machine (by setting the boot order to CD first).
This was on a Tosh laptop.
