cool I guess... but I agree with Gz3.
I suppose I dont really see the point, and the fact they were stating that desktop interefaces were designed in the 70 and 80s and now havent been using the current technology seems a little farfetched.
Granted, windows doesnt exactly strain the average 32-128mb video card... but why would you want it to?

Maybe for the casual desktop users or a mac lover it would be a nice feature, but I sure hope all OSs arent that way in the near future.

Well IMO,

For all those peeps out there with the > than 2 GHz cpus, who just go on aim and chat and check email it wouldnt be much of a resource hog. I remember saying to myself after using my IBM 8086 (monochrome), why would anyone want a color monitor? (apple IIe).

there was an episode of the simpsons like that... where Homer is trying to run away from his sister's-in-law and goes into the dimensional portal behind his bookshelf lol

i do agree with Gz3 in that i would be a pretty big resource hog, but in a few years that wont matter. There will come a day soon when you can get a video card with 1GB of RAM on it and add that to your 64bit CPU, should handle a 3D desktop quite easily. IMO i think it is a good idea.
