Disappearing OS

I installed windows onto a system that had mandrake on it.

When I had installed Mandrake 9.2, it had left a little partition of about 500mb on the drive with it.

When I installed Windows 98, it assumed it was supposed to install to that 500mb partition. I have no problem with this.

My problem is that I no longer get a boot screen allowing me to choose and OS after I installed windows. (mandrake gave one before listing stuff like failsafe and whatnot)

How can I get back into Mandrake, and how do I get my boot loader screen back. Oh, it used LILO as the bootloader.

IIRC, you must install Linux after you install windows.

TechTV reaffirms my belief. In the linked article, replace Windows XP with Windows 98.

No, you dont have to install windows first, its just easier that way usually. You can add linux to the windows boot menu and boot it that way. I dont dual boot anymore and cant remember exactly what you need to do, but i know there are several threads on the subject and the search feature is now working in the linux forum.

Hmm..... well, its nice to know I can do it. My searching wasn't getting me anywhere. I jsut kept coming up with problems with adding linux, not adding windows.

I'll probably just reinstall Linux.... they said I could, that they didn't really have anything personal on it yet.... kinda just playing with it.
