New laptop

Looking to get a new laptop. I'm confused about the difference between a Networking Card and a Personal Networking Card (offered for sale separately by Dell): is the NC for accessing the internet and the PNC for linking to one's desktop (as an alternative to a port replicator card)? In addition, the difference between M processors and the P4 with the new HT technology

Go with an M processor if battery life is your major concern. Go with HT if you need speed.
