Remove progrms

I removed kazaa from the add and remove programs area. But went to my computor and looked in programs to find 42 mb in a kazaa folder. Call me a clean freak but I like to know the best way to completly remove a program.

The same thing happen to my dads computor, I had removed AOL . When you are exploring files you see AOL all over the place. So when you remove a program there is always residual files, is that just the way computor life is?

kazaa should be safe to delete the folder after you've uninstalled.
The uninstaller removes specific files, not everything in the folder in case YOU put files in there that you dont' want deleted.

AOL is a virus, always best to reinstall the OS to uninstall AOL

Heh to the AOL comment.

You can get a remove AOL program, which just goes to show how nasty it is, forget what it's called tho. Probably "AOL Remover"..

Anywho Kazaa remove will remove Kazaa. But shock. .it leaves behind a folder. Well yeah it's going to, this is where you actually save your own files to.
The remove shield will have a list of files it installed, it will remove these files, it won't remove registry entries that it didn't create (such as the title bar on Internet Explorer.. sure it CHANGED the title but it didn't create the registry entry for a title bar and it didn't make any record of what it changed it FROM).

And it definetly won't remove a folder that isn't empty when there are files in it that aren't on it's list. By which I mean if the foler "my shared folder" was empty, it should remove it. But when you've downloaded stuff and stored it in there it isn't allowed to remove it. Imagine the outcry if remove shield did just delete user created files... so basically if you download from kazaa it isn't going to delete the folder you saved into it.
Same with games, without a prompt asking you what to do the uninstaller will remove the entire game but NOT the folder containing any saved games.
