Got my new rig running

Loaded windows xp pro
Loaded it on a western digital raptor 36 gig @10000 rpm's

Also have a maxtor 120 gig 2nd drive for data storage but I
don't see it in "MY Computer".
Will i have to reload windows xp pro to set it up or is there something else i can do to make it show up as a drive in "MY Computer"?

Also, is 50 to 55 degrees Celcius to hi for gaming

You need to format it before it will show up in my computer.

55 is a little high but it is within spec for being under full load.

alienfi,
Is the second drive seen in BIOS? Did you just add it, or was it already installed when you received the computer (sorry, not sure if you built the rig)? Did you run the drive preparation software that came with the Maxtor drive?

If you've already formatted it and all, set the jumper for the maxtor drive to slave, and then set it up in the bios slaved to the Raptor. I may be wrong but that sounds like the best setup. I had a cd-rom drive that wouldn't show up in my computer, and it was because its jumpers were set for slave but it was the only drive on that ide channel.

Does it show in Disk Management?

Right click My Computer > Mange > Disk Manaqement.

Should be Disk 1.

If there, you can format it from there.

Thanks to all replies.
I built this system and it runs great. Hd to send mobo and processor back for replacement . NEWEGG was great. No questions at all.

I installed this originally along with the raptor and just set it up as NTFS. I was so happy to get it all running that i didn't even think about the second drive. I believe the jumper is set as master along with the primary.
I see it listed as "disk 1" in disk management and it says
"unallocated" but i dont see a "format" option.
It has
"Convert to dynamic disk"
"Properties"
"Help"

Not sure what Dynamic Disk is without a bunch of microsoft jargon.

Actually, on temps, I'm running at 45 to 49celsius, just wondered
if i'd be in trouble if it got that high.
Playing rainbow6-Ravenshield for the 1st time. Cool game. JUst getting into gaming abit. It make my blood rush as did getting into bios for the 1st time.

T.Y. again for all replies
