Word 2003 document hell

A friend of mine has Microsoft word 2003 pro on her home computer. every time she opens the program from the start menu it loads this one document. "sand 132" she created it for school work and is now done with it.

How in blue blazes do we get rid of it?
I did a search for it and deleted all instances of it, but it still comes back.

how do I get rid of the extra New document icons on the toolbar?

Why do people alway call me to fix software problems, when I'm a hardware person?

I know this is probably real easy if you know what your doing, but I don't know beans about office 2003. ( I can fumble my way around office 2000 enough to get by on my computer but thats about all.)

Sounds like it got saved as your default Word Template.

Close Word.
Look for a file called "Normal.dat" and delete it.
Start Word and you should have a clean slate.

Or . . .
Close Word.
Rename the "Normal.dat" you have to "sand 132.doc".
Start Word and you should have a clean slate.

The "Normal.dot" is usually found in . . .

\Documents and Settings
\username
\Application Data
\Microsoft
\Templates

EDIT - Oh yeah, to remove the extra buttons, click the drop-down arrow at the end of the Standard Toolbar. You can then uncheck the buttons you don't want showing.
