Kids Pentium 4: 256kb or 512kb?

Any insight on this would be appreciated.

What are you asking? Which is better? But that's pretty obvious. I would guess that the 256k is a mobile version or a lower power version, but thats really not an answer to any question.

I have a 1.8 256kb. I want to upgrade. Pretty much every p4 has either 256 or 512 (At least in the range im looking to upgrade to). I want to know if I should opt for the 512 or not. Where will I see a difference in performance? Just...."insight".. on it.

at most ur talking about l2 cache size and for the most part any newer p4 chips 2.4ghz and above, this is the standard size, and yes for the most part the 512kb cache versions are faster because the l2 cache helps with loading programs more cache the faster, i think now amd and intel are getting up to the 1mb rang of cache. anything else lemme know

and about performance u would see a decrease in the time it takes for programs to load, helps with multitasking and if ur gonna upgrade anyways theres most likely gonna be an increase in proformance depending on how much fast of a processor ur getting. but if ur talking about how games and streaming video would run probably about the same unless loading more things into it but as far as constance goes not really.

I totally agree with Jimbo.
Go for the 512KB cache processor.
