Systems Support for Athlon 64 3000+

Does anyone know if the ECS KT600-A motherboard supports the Athlon 64 bit 3000+ cpu? I have checked on the internet and it says it only supports athlon XP/Duron, but a reliable source told me that it does in fact support it. I wonder if anyone out there would know? AS i really need to know since i will be very soon upgrading.

Supported CPU: Socket A AMD Athlon XP/Athlon/Duron Processors

I would have to say your 'reliable source' is not so reliable in this particular case.
He may see that its a 3000+ and assume that a '3000+' is the same no matter what. However in this case it is a 64bit cpu which is different than a 32bit cpu.
Its not just a speed upgrade like going 3000+ to 3200+

Supported CPU: Socket 754 AMD Athlon64 Processors
This is what you want to see
(I am not endorsing this particular mobo, just wanted to show it explicitly shows support for athlon64)

That MB looks to be Socket A and to the best of my knowledge the Athlon 64 3000+ uses socket 754.

Edit: damn too slow
