How long have you had your vid card? Do you have the required power? Sounds like maybe your powersupply is burning up? Check how hot everything is running also.

To me, it sounds like something maybe be interfering with a fan circulating, in turn overheating being the cause........... I would check and make sure all fans (power supply fans, cpu fans and graphics card fan, if it has one) are free of wires or any other obstructions and are working properly. Maybe, if there is dust built up on any of them, blow them out with compressed air too. BTW, please watch the language...........

I have a question im using this program called rage3d tweaker on the overclocker section it has my core clock set to 378.0 and my memory clock to 337.5 when i lower these numbers the lagging and crashes occur less what does that mean?

The clicking noise is most definitely coming from the fan which we could then assume that the card isn't getting its required cooling. Overclocking would cause the card to become even hotter, thus making lag and crashes more common.

Did you hookup the extra power connector to the card? The 9800 pro cards require extra power to run properly, that is wy there is an extra "y" molex power cable included with the card. When you connected it, did you verify that it was properly plugged in?

The clicking sound could actually be the powersupply...

First thing's first... RUN IT AT STOCK SPEEDS! Also check the fan to see if its running properly. Next time it makes that clicking noise, do yourself a favor and try to pinpoint where its coming from.
