Outdoors Moniter problems

Hi,

Right, i changed some things which caused my moniter to have this "out of frequency" error. And the Power Management time goes down and my monitor switches off

So i go into safe mode and put all my settings back to what they was. Like DPI to 96. But i cant change my Refresh Rate but its under the heading of Use Hardware Default Settings (so that should be fine).

So if any of you could know any solutions to be able to get my moniter back to normal i will be very very greatful

Thanks
Chris

Hi.

Calm down and take a deep breath...

First we need to know what OS and hardware (video card and drivers at least).

And don't worry, these guys here are the best. I'm just OK...

Ok...

Try right clicking the desk top and clicking on the properties option. Go to the settings tab.

Is your graphics card the one shown here?

Also click on "advanced". Look for a monitor tab. Is your monitor listed here properly?

Oh, and just for fun, double check your device manager and see if the display devices still lists your old drivers...

Sorry about the delay.

Those old drivers probably have to go before you will get the new ones to be functional.

try just removing the old drivers and then restarting. Note: You might have to restart in safe mode (hold the F8 key at start up) in order to do this.

In Safe mode, from Control Panel go into System... Properties... Hardware... Device Manager... then locate and remove your video card. Next go to Add/Remove Programs... if you see your video drivers listed, uninstall them... Reboot, when XP tells you it has found new hardware (your vid card) and asks if you want to install the drivers, tell it no. Let it finish booting, turn off any antivirus program running in the background, then (re)install the video drivers.

[EDIT]After thinking about it a bit more, for good measure, also remove the monitor while in Device Manager.
