Exchange current queue growth

Ok, so in my quest for Exchange greatness (that will never happen ) and came across some monitoring that was setup for SMTP on the exchange server.

Anyway the warning state was set to 5 minutes and critical to 10 minutes. When I check the current queue growth it is 8700 minutes!!! Now that does not seem good to me!?!?

I would think that it could be maybe a few hours at worst. The thing is that emails are going out and coming for the most part in good time. Is this spam that is queuing up and not getting removed???

I checked the SMTP queues and there are at least 100 domains listed, all spam or adult looking names.......

Any ideas would be appreciated

One more tidbit, it seems that all of the queued emails have the same date of submission, Feb 7, if that doesn't add to the confusion.....

So I went and manually deleted the mail out of the queue, now it is only showing a few, but after a few hours, it is up again. Any ideas?
