Got a TV tuner for one of my PC's the other day.
Not exactly happy with the picture quality.

Its an ATI TV Wonder Pro (with remote)
Did all the new drivers for it.
The video card is a 9800XT

Is it the my resoultion or refresh rate you think?
Somone told me to try 800x600....

I have a regular cable line goin in it.
Just looks bad compare to my TV.

Thanks

I bet this qiestion is asked once a week on all the forums I visit.

The TV tuners on these cards are poor, so are the converters that make it possible to use a NTSC monitor.

I have never saw one that looked good!

What size monitor?
S Video or composite?

Try 640x480 also.

TV's have low-resolution interlaced screens while monitors have high-resolution non-interlaced screens. Typically, when using one not designed for the other, the picture is usually not that great.

So, unfortunately, I don't think there is much you can do about your problem. You may be able to tweak the picture a bit, but it's fundamentally flawed.

That's a typical question. The incoming TV signal actually is that fuzzy, low-resolution and noisy. It's only that the slow and coarse dot pitch tubes in an actual TV set don't let you notice. Your high refresh rate, fine dot pitch, quick phosphor CRT monitor shows you every detail of how bad it is. And your sitting much closer to it than the TV doesn't help it either.
