No internet connection

I am using Windows Xp home and bell south DSl, My system was working fine then all of a sudden I cant access the internet or email Error msg says no internet connection cannot find server.
I have tried making a new connection didnt fix the problem.

Any Ideas.

Maybe Bell South is working on the line. You could always try resetting the router to see if that will work.

Called Bell South and they said the connection is ok, my Bell south connection show a good connection, I just cannot access Internet explorer or out look.

Not sure what you mean "my Bell south connection show a good connection...." Are you getting an IP address assigned to your PC by your modem (or router, if your using a router). Does IE and/or OE just not open, or they open but never connect?

Can you open a command box window, and PING a web site such as www.dslreports.com?

At c:\ prompt, type:
ping -a www.dslreports.com or type:
ping -a www.yahoo.com
and hit return key... do you get any response? What do you get?

IE and OE open just never connect. I am trying to help my wifes sister out on this over the phone, Just relaying what she has told me. they have a network connection that shows them connected to Bell south however they can not go to any web pages or download or send email. They can however ping bell south and several other sites. So far we have set up all net work connections and reloaded windows xp and it did not correct the problem.
