Linksys-The Retarded Routers

Hello! My previous router kinda bit the dust a little bit ago. So I just purchased a new router(BEFSX41) its the etherfast Cable/DSL Firewall 4-port switch/VPN endpoint router. The problem I am having is this: I have restarted and reset it many times(and shut everything down, powering the modem up, then the router, then the computer), I have run several custom programs, and before that I tried their stupid CD wizard thing(the problem with that is that the windows 98 computer I am on currently is using one network card, so when I boot up with the modem it can log onto the modem, but the setup wizard requires that AFTER checking my modem it checks the router after reconnecting it without rebooting, but then the computer cannot access the router unless I restart, which resets the wizard, and then I can't connect to the modem because it doesn't recognize it). I have 2 other computers I wish to hook up, but do not have the necessary cable modem drivers to be able to use the wizard. I can access the router fine, I have called linksys tech support(which I will not comment on), comcast cable(my ISP) and all assume that if I power the damn router on it will magically start working. Now, all computers can ping the router fine(as long as the windows 98 one starts-up connected to it), but my internet isn't getting through. I've been fooling around with it for the past 2 1/2 hours on all three computers(and I've turned all the computers off when I reset it) and tried to set it up using one computer. Nothing has worked and I know if I call linksys they will be utterly and completely useless(as always). Can anyone help me?

Raven

With my cable company I have to register the routers mac adress with them. They supply a web site for doing this. I am guessing yours is the same.
