If you used that device, you'd have to run at least one connection directly from the demarc to your modem, else you would filter out the frequencies needed to transmit data to and from your modem.

Well I imagine that that box would work as you expect.

I would assume that the only work that it will really involve is moving the phone wires from the demarc box to the filter, while putting in a connection between the filter box and the demarc.

Thats not that bad of a price. Radio Shack sells basic inline filters for 10+ dollars. Most of us get the filter for free from the phone company so we dont have a clue.

How do you get 40 dollars? The site you posted has the "buy it now" price at $29.50 and bid price is 22.50 so you could get it for that price.

mike...
Check out this link http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...9180~mode=flat for another Siecor-Corning POTs splitter, and this link http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...2760~mode=flat for installation. I bought one of the Seicor-Corning (my telco and aDSL service is SBC-Ameritech (SBC/Yahoo).

Took only about five minutes to install the splitter (once I read the instructions ) and wire the POT line to the splitter and re-wire my old (long inactive) unbunlded loop line as my new "homerun."

PS: I bought my splitter from "KAIFS" mentioned in these two threads. Ordered and paid by Paypal Friday about 6pm, he shipped before noon Saturday, I rec'd the unit Tuesday and was up and running by 4:30pm. Splitter+homerun has made significant difference in stability and speed.

Send a message via AIM to teengeek88 Send a message via Yahoo to teengeek88
you could make that splitter yourself could you not?

all you would need is a bell box and the splitter and the other stuff

just a thought
