No more KVM to share mouse/keyboard

http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/

Quote:
Synergy lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware. It's intended for users with multiple computers on their desk since each system uses its own monitor(s).

Redirecting the mouse and keyboard is as simple as moving the mouse off the edge of your screen. Synergy also merges the clipboards of all the systems into one, allowing cut-and-paste between systems. Furthermore, it synchronizes screen savers so they all start and stop together and, if screen locking is enabled, only one screen requires a password to unlock them all. Learn more about how it works.

Synergy is open source and released under the GNU Public License (GPL).
Short version:
Two PC's Two OS's (windows/linux, windows/windows etc)
ONE keyboard and mouse
Does require the machines to be on a network.
Plus you can copy/paste across the two machines seamlessly with no button to push to switch between the two machines.

Does require two monitors though.

Not sure how it works if one PC has multiple screens....

That's something I could certainly use, I have been needing a kvm switch but that is too cool
Thanks vass for sharing, i didn't know such a program existed.

I thought the whole point of a KVM switch was that you only needed one monitor .

Yes but some people use a KVM with two monitors so they just need to hit the button to share keyboard/mouse.

no longer required

This is absolutely awesome. I can now EASILY use my Windows and Linux machine without a KVM. The clipboard even goes back and forth. And my wheel mouse works!

Good find Vass!
