Is it my card or 3dmark 2k1
Every time I try to run 3dmark 2k1 recently I get this error. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times. Changed display drivers, etc. ??? Just started occuring. Now 3dmark 2k3, PCmark, etc. all work fine. ???

I think you are getting that error because you are using DirectX 9.0 which isnt supported with that version. I think you have to use DirectX 8.1 for that version of 3DMark. If it works fine in 3DMark 2003 its probably the DirectX version that is causing this to happen in 2001.

There is a patch for that version to work with DirectX 9.0? Nice to know. Will download it right away.

I think this is the problem:
As you mensioned you are using 3D Mark 2001. Still there is the version 3D Mark 2001SE which support this patch to work with DirectX 9.0 and the non SE doesnt (didnt find support for the 330 patch for this version) If you are using the non SE version, get the SE version and download the patch, install it and try it out. I guess this is the solution, if not then I am clueless.

Then I think you should contact Futuremark, because this seems strange to me. Very odd, the patch should fix this error.
