check your jumpers on your MB. Should say in you MB manuel how to set them up for 133 FSB. Also when you boot up the pc, get into the bios (usually holding down the "delete" key will get you in there. Make sure your FSB is set at 133 and not lwr, usually they come stock from factory at 133. What kind of MB are you running and does it support the 2400 2.0Ghz cpu?

Yes, switch the FSB to 133mhz. Currently its at 100, hence:
(XP1800 runs at 1533mhz, 2400 at 2ghz and it has a 15x multiplier)
100*15 = 1500 which is roughly the same speed as an 1800+
133*15 = 1995 ~ 2ghz.

Depends on your motherboard, Thekatna.

Post what type you have, along with the processor and ram.

the settings are liste in your motherboard manual somewhere.

The board can't read the speed because the processor doesn't tell. It is up to you, the person who assembled the machine, to SET the correct front side bus frequency.

And yes indeed, how you do that depends on how your particular board implements it. There might be jumpers, there might be controls in BIOS setup, and there might even be both. Read the manual, and if still unclear, ask again here, and this time please tell us what hardware you have there.
