What kind of frames are we talking about

I'm in the market for a new gaming PC. Since I'm going off 2 college in a year I want 2 get a laptop but then again I'm talking about raw power. I'm thinking of spending around 3k tops and I've looked at alot of companies but I'd wanna know what kind of frame rates would I get in games like UT2k4 or Farcry with high details? I mean I want this laptop to last me for atleast 4 years but thats not without saying that I will be upgrading the GPU atleast once or twice since then.

Dell 9100. Don't have a link for you, but they beat out Alienware's best gaming Laptop when pitted head-to-head in Maximum PC.
