i'm wondering why it takes so long, about 45 seconds, for my printer to start printing a page that was sent from another computer? .... over the LAN through a router. i really dont know what information i should give you, Win2K on both computers. the printer is an epson stylus c84, and there's a linksys router.

and another painful thing is it takes about another 35 seconds for the printer to start actually printing the page, once the printer makes it's initial sounds before printing.

and one other thing, how do i have my computer automatically log on to the LAN with administrator?

I guess one way you can tell how fast your info is being sent to the other PC is to print from one PC and then run over to the other PC and notice when the spool icon comes up in the bottom right hand corner. This will help you narrow out if it is a transfer problem or the other PC is having a problem.

well, when, in word, i do a file print, at the bottom left theres a message that read:

"Word is preparing to background print this document."

could that mean something? i'm pretty sure the problem is not the PC receiving the print job
