i cant get my laptop to boot

i cant get my laptop to boot its a samsung vm8000 series celeron 800mhz i was in windows and everything froze so i turned the machine off, then i turned it back on and put in my password and then it displayed celeron 800mhz and then i freezes up i have tried recovery cds but it wont boot from them and the harddrive wont boot, i hope someone can help me here please, thanks from dan

can you boot into safe mode? try pressing f5 when it boots

if you can get into safe mode...if its windows XP..try then using system restore to restore it back to before the problem started
