Burning Program CD-R

I have a legitimate program disk of a game that was damaged (cracked) and no longer usable. A freind has the same game/disk. the disk needs to be in the cd-rom to play the game. Am I able to use Nero or some other utility to copy his cd so I can play the game? I already have the program on the computer, it just needs to read it in order to load the game.

Nero is giving me all kinds of write errors when I try to straight cd copy. Any help would be appreciated.....thanks.

you can use an imaging software to create an image of the game cd. in that way, you wont need a cd in the drive to play the game.

i actually figured out how to make a copy of it......can you explain with a little more detail how to make it able to play without the cd in the drive?

Go here and look around. If you can't find what you need there, you're not looking hard enough. (And yes that site is legal. Read the "important notice" as you enter.)

thanks Out. that site itself didn't have what i was looking for, but linked to another that did. i used CloneCD to make a back up at the suggestion of another member and it worked pefectly. the other site i found provided a patch where i don't have to stick the cd in every time to play.
