Uninstall all of the video drivers, and then when Windows reboots and asks to install it so "No." Then, get the latest version of the card's drivers (either from the card manufacturer's site or from ATI/nVidia directly) and install them using the setup program.

Now restart and finish the installation.

Shutdown and turn back on and time it to see how long it takes now, I don't recall anytime I've had video drivers slow down boot times, but I'm not saying it isn't possible. If that's not the case, others will be able to help you to try to shave your boot time down.

Good luck!

Dave

Well, you will want to remove anything in Device Manager as far as the video card goes, but also look in the Add/Remove Programs to uninstall any drivers from there as well. Then, just reinstall once you've rebooted and do the other stuff I mentioned above.

re-install the old card and i'm sure you can see it in the device manager. from there you can uninstall the driver.

Get into Safe Mode & Device Manager. It doesn't lie. You can remove any devices you have removed from your machine previously and currently.

Tap F8 during the boot cycle to get to the Start menu and select Safe Mode from the option screen.

Cheers!
