if you have the account on 2 different computers..it will work on both computers...whichever one you "check" the mail with will be the one that "has" the mail on it.
If you delete the account from the old computer..it wont affect the new computer at all....you will still have the account on the new computer.
The account is registered etc with the ISP...your computer just accesses the mail that is on the ISP's computer...you could have one computer or 5 computers accessing the account.....so if you delete the account off of one computer it wont affect the account on another computer.
Lots of people set the mail settings to "leave a copy of messages on the server"....so that they can check the mail at the office..and then come home and check the mail also on their home computer and that way they have the messages on BOTH computers....maybe you could do that instead of deleting the account from the old computer.
to do that, in outlook express, you go to "tools/accounts....clcik on the "mail" tab...click on the account to highlight it...properties...advanced tab...then at the bottom it should say "delivery" and there will be a check box for "leave a copy of message on server"
if you check that on BOTH computers..then you will be able to get the mail on both.
---
otherwise just delete the account off of the old computer..it wont affect the other computer.

to save old accounts/folder/emails etc...go to c:\windows\application data\identities
you can either save the whole identities folder....or savethe individual folder within it which will correspond to the individual accounts......inside the fodlers you will find all sorts of ".dbx" files...those files are you actual email folders...like "sent items" etc etc....I suppose you could just save those but I think its easier to save the whole identities folder.
