can viruses jump?????

hullo

two sata hard drives...........one with xp 64-bit beta (via 64 bit raid controller installed) one with xp home.

i can view the contents of both drives from either hdd and can drag and drop files from either hdd to the other.

so.............aside from the possibility of my dragging across an infection iwas wondering..........before i take xp 64 online........if this disk picked up something nasty on the net could it "jump" to my other drive??

thanx

viruses are pretty crafty, lol...seems the possibility exists that they could go from one drive to another

yes, it could infect files on the other drive or partition. Just depends on how the virus is written
