We have a Compaq Presario 1400 series laptop that went haywire one day and the battery went dead... when it did... when we try to turn it back on it only says " NO OPERATING SYSTEM FOUND"
Will the system restore disk work on fixing this problems or has anyone else heard of this problem before??
I know that when you go back in to the settings... it doesn't show a hard drive at all... only a cd-rom... so does that mean it's not reconizing the hard drive like I have read in some forums... or is the hard drive shot?
I don't suppose you have a spare hard drive, if you did you could try it and see which is happening, but I would bet that the hard drive is dead. But I know very little about that laptop.
I do have a hard drive here that works. (matter of fact I have 2) but I didn't know if regular hard drives for a desktop would work for a laptop... (first time I've had any dealings with a laptop)
