Beginner PC "How to" sites?

I have a freind who is looking to learn the basics as to how computers work and how to repair and upgrade them.
What site or sites would you recommend for this kind of info?
Thanks in advance

Arjay

You mean, other than TechIMO?

I learned most of what I know about computers by building a crappy computer and spending four years trying to make it work correctly.
