I dont get it, why do people want to overclock video cards that already are powerful enough? Answering your question: Yes it is, most Radeons are really easy and friendly in terms of overclocking, at least in my experiences.

Huummppphhhh.....
What about benchmarking BRAGGING RIGHTS???
That's why I keep upgrading a perfectly serviceable PC to the latest & greatest.

Go too far and your future will be a burned out video card. A 9800 should last you for a good 18 months at least until you need another one.

As far as benchmarking goes-who cares? If it runs fine and isnt giving you trouble, why mess with it? I dont think it's worth risking $200+ for a few FPS and bragging rights.

Jmichna, you be upgrading every month until you die then, if thats what you are going at. Chasing technology for the rest of your life..

Guess it is sometimes difficult to recognize T-I-C, besides, the upgrades would come about every week, not monthly...

(T-I-C: tongue-in-cheek)

I understand jmichna's point of view (I think). I know I don't need a really fast computer; I have a 2.4GHz P4 but I could make do with less. But I overclock it (currently at 3.0GHz), as well as the other comps in my house. I also buy upgrades whenever I can (not every week like jmichna, more like every 3-6 months).

I don't do it necessarily to keep up with technology. I do it for fun.
