Kids External Graphics Solutions??

Hi there,

I am having issues with some high spec PC games, on my laptop, with regards to the sound output. (Such as Toca Race Driver etc)

I believe this issue is due to the lesser quality of the Laptop graphics - i am running the MOBILITY RADEON 9000 card.

Is anyone aware of the maximum feasable limits of this cards capabilities, as I assumed it wouldnt be outdated yet, and would at least run todays PC games.

But fearing the worst (that my radeon 9000 isnt up to the task), i would like to know if there are any External Graphics devices out there, that will enhance my laptops graphics power??

Any advice is appreciated

Nope, there aren't. A fast connection to the system's core logic is important for a graphics unit.

That said, the 9000, mobile or not, is not THAT bad a graphics chip. Just don't overdo resolution, color depth and quality settings in your games. And of course, use the latest drivers.

The same applies to the sound unit - don't push too far on the quality settings, and use the latest drivers.

Your video card is prolly better than 9/10ths of the lappys on the market. Most have Intel Extreme Graphics and thats truely sloooow. now 9000 ISNT the fastest of the batch but its better then most of em. Id do like peter said. Lower res and details. Some very FEW lappys allow graphic card changes. Very few. Find out if yer model is one first. Then get ready for the really $ propriatary price tag.

Maybe perhaps all is not lost !!

the reason i fear my graphics is naff is cos i experienced garbled sound on Toca Race Driver and Colin Mcrae 4 Demo.

I understand the graphics/sound are kinda related so i wondered if it could be either.

(there is a commonly found issue with TocaRaceDriver and laptop sound - so i figure new games are just for high end PC graphics cards)

Wot do u guys think??

Thanks

Prolly the integrated sound. Try updating the drivers for it.
