Pavillion Recovery CD

I had to reformat my C: drive and I don't have a recovery CD. I have a Pavillion 6636, and HP no longer burns/manufactures t he recovery CD.

Can anyone tell me where I can get one please???

If you can get drivers from HP for everything off the net then just buy whatever OS you want [98 or XP etc]

if you have a friend with the same os you can use his cd and your key...well not if it's a recovery cd but if it is a normal cd anyways

Once you get the OS, you can download the 6636 specific drivers at:

From HP's site:

Attain Microsoft's Certificate of Authenticity number (also know as the Product Key) for the Windows operating system. The recovery process may request the product key. The Certificate of Authenticity is on the cover of the Microsoft Windows book that was included with your system, or on a small sticker on the side of the HP Pavilion's chassis.

If you have this key and a copy of the operating system it is for, you are good to go...everything else can be downloaded from HP (drivers, etc).

most hp machines have a seperate partititon with a backup the OS
did you format this too?
Its normally like a 5 gig "D:"

I think its like F10 or F12 during post to startup recovery
