Halo 2 vs. Doom III?

Most people reading this are thinking..."Oh god, haven't we heard enough of Halo, it's an over-rated game that is just the same basic shooter" But it's not. Anyway, that's aside the point. I'm just glad to hear that Bungie promises that it will be out sometime "Fall 2004". And as most die-hard Halo fans know...Bungie doesn't tell Release dates till they know it's time. Anyway, the game is going to be great.

Doom III is going to be fun too. But it's basis is going to be all shooter. The best part of Doom III is the lighting engine, that's about it. Thought Doom games have never failed to satisfy peoples urge for gore and blood, but it just isn't going to measure up to Halo 2.

Graphically Doom 3 will beat Halo 2. Halo 2 is going to be for the Xbox which uses some sort of modified Geforce 3. I can't remember exactly, cause I haven't pulled the cover off my xbox for a while now. I doubt the PC release of Halo 2 will coincide with the Xbox release either. As for gameplay, I'd go with Halo 2.

Latest xbox magezine issue said they are shooting for a Holiday 2004 release (I suppose thats technically fall.. but misleading)

But in regards to the games...
this is console vs. PC, thus we have the cliche apples vs. oranges discussion.

Personally I much prefer a Halo style game rather than Doom.. but in the case of these games its just going to be user preference

halo 2's gameplay will probably be MUCH better. IMO the Halo 1 single player is one of the best out there still (for xbox or PC).

But then again Doom 3's graphics will be much better, not to mention it's modding capabilities will be insane, and i still think it's single player will be very good.

Well indeed both games will be great. I kind of find my self stupid posting this thread. Mainly cause it is somewhat of a stupid question. But I just wanted to hear others views on it. Anyway, about the Halo 2 release date. It is Fall 2004, no doubts. It might be released be for that, but it will not be released any later than that time.

Has anyone seen the picture for the Warthogs...the one picture with the four 'hogs lined up next to each other? Normal/Camo/Snow/Passanger ...well, if not, here's the pic. I also am quite thrilled because they are going to have ATV's. Another fun thing is going to be able to kick people out of vehicles. Ever play multiplayer and your friend is chasing you down with a vehicle and it's near impossible to dodge them forever? Well with that dandy feature you get to jump on the vehicle and kick there asses out! Yay! *Happy dance*
