Here's the link where people post and discuss problems with the SP2 RC1. http://communities.microsoft.com/new...xpsp2&slcid=us
I've been running the SP2 RC1 v2096 since, I think, Saturday morning and so far I've had no significant problems. It's really rather interesting. I do have to lower the normal security settings to download updates for virus checkers.

Yah I kinda like the built in pop-up blocker but it is kinda annoying sometimes and I also like the new security part of it.

So when are they going to release the full version? I don't like release candidates as they tend to run a little slower.

According to one MS tech an RC is a version with all of the features in place but the bugs not worked out. RC1 was released by MS so it could be run on the myriad of system out there and bugs could be located. So, when the final release will be ready depends on when they feel they've met their bug-cleaning obligation.
My machine has an Intel processor and an Intel motherboard which is probably as close to a "Microsoft Standard" as you can get so I'm dealing with very few bugs. I've noticed other machines in other configurations are having more problems.

Uncle Jim: I don't P2P but to download some virus update files I have to reduce the security level, temporarily, to low. You might give that a try.
