Outdoors No sound when recording

I have a PVR 878 TV capture card. I have the card installed and I can and have watched TV through cable successfully. However when I go to record a segment I get no sound when I watch the recording. Also I have just hooked up my VHS-C camcorder to the card and I get video but no sound. I have one connection to my camera that splits into one yellow and one white connector(A/V size). I plugged the yellow into the A/V plug on the card which allows me to record the video. However I am unsure where to plug the white or if I even need to. I was thinking maybe the line in on my MoBo?

Anyone know why I get sound when watching cable but none when recording? Anyone know where to plug the yellow and White from my video camera so that I can get sound as well as video?

Might want to tryplugging it into your line in or mic in on your sound card. You then would need to set up your card to record from the in port that the tv card is plugged into.

The thing that bothers me is that the connection for my Mic and Line in are not the same as a A/V connection. I mean it will fit in the hole but I need a headphone end or something like it to make it work. Do I just hack the Audio part of my camera cable and splice it into a headphone end or do I just buy an adapter. There is only one A/V type connection on my entire computer and that is for the Video only on my capture card.

Obviously the computer cant record sound without it being plugged in but im not an expert. Have you read the manual

I mean it sould work with an adapter.

I guess I just need to find a composite to headphone jack adapter. If anyone knows where to find one let me know. I didn't realize this card does not have an audio in port along side the video in. After reading the reviews from Newegg it seems others are encountering the same "no sound from recording T.V clips" This puzzles me b/c the sound comes from the cable not an alternate input location. If anyone else can help me I would appreciate it.
Thanks

There is an y-adapter you can purchase. I know radioshack carries it. You would plug in the white and red wires to the adapter and the adapter goes to the line-in on the sound card.

BTW, it doesnt need to be gold plated. And make sure its a stero end (the one with the two black rings on the end) like the one in the pic at radioshack.

Thanks for the link. I will be headed there tomorrow and I will keep people informed on how this goes. If it works I will recommend this card for video conversion but not TV recording.......just yet anyway, that is another problem.
