most performance from the 5200

i was wondering what options i should change in properties for my geforce fx 5200 128mb 8x agp graphics card to get the Most Performance out of it. i dont care if the quality looks like junk. we all know the FX series was just a rip off. i also have an amd 2500+ and 256MB of Pc3200 400Mhz RAM.

i dont expect over clocking to be a good option because i am using stock heatsinks and fans, few case cooling fance. Idle CPU is 43 C and full load, about 50C

thanks

I dont think changing some option in properties of the Nvidia driver will make it perform better. To do that you have to oveclock it, but as you mensioned its not an option for you correct?

dang!! i havent used that OCing site yet, BUT, i've been running 3dmark03, and the scores were coming in about 875-885. just messing with settings. i installed the new 5.3.0.6 drivers and the points Rose 200 points!!! coming to 1093 on my last run... that really surprised me, i only expected about 10-20 more points. next will be that OCing thing.

now much space should i leave for PCI system memory mode textures? default is 31Mb

edit again, should i try out the detonator drivers?

this just keeps getting better. right now i have it OCed to (Mhz) 269GPU/441Memory from the original 250GPU/400Memory, raising my 3dmark03 score to 1192, about a 35% increase!!! i used your link, tgxiii, thank you. i plan to stop at around 277GPU/460Memory, just to be safe.

Glad to hear it. The scores you're getting are a lot better than what I used to get with my 5200.
