Know of any good freeware for partition recovery?

I accidentally partitioned the data drive and need to recover data files. I have tried some recovery tools and they cannot find the data.

if the files were compressed, I wouldn't bother wasting time ...they'll probably be corrupted already.

Thanks Doot

I tried Drive Rescue and when it searches it only finds directories no files. And the directories have garbled names.

At this point unless you have some powerhouse data recovery tools you are probably screwed. There are drive recovery services available that could probably some data, but these servces are typically quite expensive as they are labor and time intensive.
