Cbale Router question

if i call my cable company and request that they switche me to a less populated router, will that make my connection better?

i think they would have to physically "move" (or put in a second hub/node jsut for you, then move) the cable (the one leaving your wall) and/or the router to another location... im almost certain that if you called them and asked that question that they would hang-up laughing...

but to answer your question: yes if you were on a less populated "node"/"hub" (whatever they call it) your speed would be faster. but i really dont think you would notice the difference in speed/quality.

First I've heard of it.

Where I'm at what you got is what you get.

teengeek88,

If you're having some speed issues I have a few suggestions for you.

However, I'm on my way out the door to take my son to piano practice and then there's the dinner thing so I don't know if I'll be back on tonight - don't want to miss Survivor.

However, tomorrow morning I'll post back for sure to see if anything I have to offer can help.

BTW, what OS are you running?

Call your ISP and ask them what up and down stream speeds you can expect.
