Mail server

I need a completely free email server that will run on windows 98 because I am poor. I plan to upgrade to XP later but not now!

I don't know of any free email server software that runs on Win9x.

Win98 is not really stable enough to run an email server 24/7 IMO.

There are a few I think. I know APACHE, PHP, and MySQL works! Just hope I can find an email server!

Check out Hermes. It's not the best but it's free and works in a pinch

MailEnable is free, but you'll have to go w/ NT,2K, or XP.

That depends on what you want to do with it. I have never tried to use it for incoming mail. I just use it for a local smtp server when I am in a location that doesn't allow me to relay mail. I wouldn't use it for anything serious, but if you need to send a quick mail it does the job just fine
