yeah, it probably just recognized the other drive in the bios and when you put the original one back it didnt re-recognize it...
go into bios and see if the drive is shown with the proper size etc...(it probably isnt)....sometimes in th ebios there is a thing you can do to auto detect the drives....sometimes it is the f3 button...or sometimes you just hit enter while "secondary master" (or whatever) is highlighted.

also, if it happened, you wouldnt be the first one to forget to put the power plug back on the drive when u replaced it....I do that one allllll the time.....
