Kids Internet Explorer (6.0) History

I am wondering if anyone out there knows how to either:

a) put a lock on the history folder in Internet Explorer (6.0)

or

b) recover the files once they have been emptied

My situation is that someone is constantly using my computer and since we have discussed the issue many times and he refuses to stop emptying the history, I would like to know what he is visiting. He deletes the cookies and everything so that my saved banking and other personal information constantly needs to be re-typed.

I have tried a file recovery program but it dragged up all sorts of things that I couldn't make heads nor tails of.

Any suggestions?

Thank you, Tracy

If this person will not conform to your wishes, and the computer
is your property ban him from using the machine.

Misc History Folder

I am using Windows 98 (Second Edition).

I can ban the person from using the computer but that will just create a bigger argument. For now, I am more curious why he is so insistent on deleting the history when he knows it makes me grumpy.

So, any suggestions?

From a equal but opposite concurrent thread here at TIMO :

If you find it, delete it.
I would think that adding that key to the registry would solve the problem.

Of course, you won't be able to delete either.

Alternately, you can install WinGuard Pro 2004 which will let you password protect specific "windows" and folders by their title.

I used an earlier version at my business to stop employees from snooping through my computer.

So when they would open solitaire a password box would pop open and lock the mouse pointer inside the box unitl the password was entered or the time to enter expired when it would close the solitaire window.

Free version and a premium version.

I liked it so much that I bought the premium version 2 days later.

Bill

Edit: Then you will have the problem of 'Hey man what's up with the password thing."
