kicked off the net?

Some sites won't let me on. The site loads up and you can see it for about a 1/2 sec. Then internet explorer closes. I configured the firewall to allow cockies. I've ran pestpatrol, spybot, and ad-aware. Still it happens. Can anyone help?

Change your security settings in oe to medium.

open oe>tools>internet options>security set this to medium.

There is a red circle that says restricted sites be aware that if you set something in there and forget the pass word the only cure is a format & reinstall.

Is your home page still set the same? Try changing it (to something like www.techimo.com ) and see if it sticks. Some browser hijackers play hijinx and spybot doen't weed all the registry stuff out.

Oh, and if they can be posted here , how about some examples of sites you can't get to?

Cheers
Mick

Ok, www.abcdistributing.com is a site that my girlfriend went to with no problem. Then one day she couldn't. I don't remember doing anything that would have caused this problem. I think that I did change my home page, but I'll try it again just in case.

I found the problem! It had something to do with a damaged java download file.

The funny part is that techimo helped but not directly. I thought that maybe the problem was IE. So I search the forum for a search engine. I downloaded one that someone had suggested. I didn't like it so I uninstalled it. I went back to IE and searched for a good internet search engine. I decided to try jeevs and as a last hope I searched for abcdistributing and clicked on the link like I had done so many time before. This time it worked I was surprised because this wasn't the first time I had changed my home page and used a different search engine. So I decided to go back and try my original home page and it also worked. Then I remembered that while downloading the alternate engine to IE it had downloaded a java file. So I checked my downloaded IE program files and found a damaged java file. The java I had downloaded with the search engine had fixed the problem.

I took the long way around to fix the problem but the important part is that techimo helped again. That wouldn't be possible with out the people who give a damn to post and try helping others. thanks
